Simply chic... Fabulously unique

August Insta-Recap

We have been on the road so much this summer I thought it would be fun to do a recap of our travels, which we diligently record via Instagram. If you’re not following us and have an interest on seeing what we are up to while we are on the road {or dressing up our own little Sac-town} be sure to follow us at @aimee2chic where most of our photos are posted. And, to see the happenings from all of our accounts, check out the hashtag #2chicsummertour.

Below is our first monthly recap for August, during which we spent more days on the road and in hotels that we spent sleeping in our own beds! From wine country to Tahoe and several places in between, we were busy creating beautiful environments all over Northern California for our brides and grooms.

From top left: 1.} A pit stop to do some planning for Brianna and Eric’s 2015 Viaggio wedding in Lodi 2.} The escort card display from Serene and Kevin’s Healdsburg wedding at Alexander Valley Vineyards 3.} The lovely tabletops {a sea of them!} from Serene and Kevin’s Healdsburg vineyard wedding 4.} A girl’s gotta eat! And this girl is planning my own 10 year vow renewal with a taco truck from Chando’s making a stop in at the event 5.} One of a few different style centerpieces from our Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe wedding 6.} The sunset over Sonoma was absolutely breathtaking last weekend. This photo does it no justice. 7.} Kristin and I enjoying a little late night wine fireside underneath the stars at one of our hotels {so romantic!}. 8.}Have you EVER seen a Sofreh table this beautiful? This is another great shot from our Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe wedding 9.} I always have to spend a little time on the lake when in Tahoe – Garwoods is my spot, and now I think that Kristin is addicted as well! 10.} Our Chateau St. Jean wedding was a black tie affair. I LOVE a wedding with guests looking this sharp more than anything! 11.} My weakness – cake…but not just cake…Perfect Endings cake. If you haven’t tried it, you haven’t lived. Even Oprah loves it! 12.} Table settings from our Chateau St. Jean wedding. Classic, crisp, and classy, perfectly tied together with candlelight and beautiful flowers 13.} {one of my faves!} No booster seat, no problem! This little princess was perfectly perched atop 4 chivari chair pads at our Chateau St. Jean wedding.

Hope you enjoyed our recap! I need a nap now.

Meadowood Napa Wedding, Mia + Alex

Napa wedding at meadowood, st helena by Apertura and 2Chic Events & Design

Mia and Alex live in Los Angeles and chose Meadowood as their perfect destination location for their summer wedding – and it’s easy to see why. Meadowood offers some of the most beautifully stunning backdrops in all of Northern California.  This amazing summer wedding was recently featured on Style Me Pretty, which you can see here. Thanks so much to Apertura for providing us with these stunning images.

Napa wedding at meadowood, st helena by Apertura and 2Chic Events & Design   Napa wedding at meadowood, st helena by Apertura and 2Chic Events & Design Mia had a very distinct design style in mind for her wedding, and everything was centered around her stunning dresses. We chose a very clean palette of neutrals and whites for the overall decor and mixed in some pops of red via graphics of Mia’s favorite flowers. We incorporated orchids of every color into the design, but also chose to let each different style of orchid stand on it’s own in the areas that we used them. This created a striking design and really showed Mia’s style.Napa wedding at meadowood, st helena by Apertura and 2Chic Events & Design

Napa wedding at meadowood, st helena by Apertura and 2Chic Events & Design The ceremony design was one of my favorites to date. Julie Steven’s Design was the floral designer for this event, and she came up with a very creative altar piece with a mix of grapewood and orchids arranged so perfectly, that they transformed into a piece of art. Sacramento Memorial Auditorium Wedding, Fonda + Nick

Sacramento Memorial Auditorium Wedding

Fonda and Nick were married at the beautiful Memorial Auditorium in midtown Sacramento, which is quite a stunning spot for a wedding. With it’s art deco style architecture, a bit of old world charm and a lighted arch around the stage area, it has quickly become one of my favorite spots to create beautiful weddings.

I began working with Fonda and Nick several months before their wedding and, together, we created a perfectly beautiful design that fit this couple to a T. I love that Fonda made it a priority to work with the art deco style of her venue, yet still kept her own distinct style intact. She had envisioned a palette of soft pinks and bold blues – a little bit soft and a little bit dramatic. Once we added in the perfect lighting elements, the finest details and an abundance of candle light, it was an amazing scene.

The design of this wedding was so elegant and dramatic that you could hear guests gasping as they walked in to the ceremony, which was lit with dozens of candles, a dramatic lighted backdrop and just a few hints of Fonda’s favorite color blue to frame it all in. And,  when we opened the doors to reveal the reception room to guests, there was a traffic jam of photo takers. It was truly breathtaking and one of the most beautiful events we have had to date. Thanks to my good friend and amazing photographer, Jessica Stout, I get to enjoy staring at these images over and over – and hope you will, too! {Full vendor credits below}

Granite Bay Private Estate Wedding, K + C

This May, Kristin and Cole were married at Kristin’s parents’ beautiful private residence in Granite Bay. It was such a beautiful day, and we lucked out with the most perfect weather. Nestled amongst the oak trees and surrounding the custom made pond, which was created by Kristin’s dad just for the wedding, it was a perfectly intimate affair.

The wedding had an elegant chandelier theme and we placed six gorgeous crystal chandeliers and several lovely vintage lounge pieces from The Find around the property to help bring this theme to life. I think that everyone will agree that this is one gorgeous wedding!

We had the honor of working with an amazing photographer on this event {Sonia Savio}, and we are so excited to share this sneak peek with you. The images really capture the beauty of this day just perfectly. Thank you so much for sharing images with us Sonia!

Style Me Pretty Wilson Vineyards Wedding

Well, we sure are honored to say that we have had 2 of our beautiful weddings that we designed featured on Style Me Pretty over the past two weeks! And, these two weddings certainly deserved all of the love we got on their blog!

First up was Amy and Jon’s Wilson Vineyards Wedding, with a very distinct design that we worked hand in hand with the bride and groom to create. Who doesn’t love black and white stripes, music notes and a barn nestled in a vineyard? And, we really feel that Style Me Pretty said it best when it comes to describing our design:

“Take everything you think you know about the black, white + purple color combo, set it aside and feast your eyes on this whimsical masterpiece from 2Chic Events & Design.  Because this isn’t the modern affair you were probably expecting, it’s a romantic love-fest with gorgeous details and a whole lot of yummy goodness from Sweet Cakes by Rebecca.  Perfection? Yes.  See it all captured by The Youngrens right here.”

Up next we will be sharing a stunning Meadowood Napa wedding , which featured more orchids than you can possibly imagine, and was featured on Style Me Pretty last week! View Amy and Jon’s full Wilson Vineyards Wedding feature on SMP here.

Crocker Art Museum Wedding by 2Chic Events

Crocker Art Museum Wedding

Last week, I shared the Sikh Ceremony and celebration for J + B on the blog. And, today I am so excited to share their Jewish ceremony and reception, held at The Crocker Art Museum, with you.

In contrast to the bright reds and saturation of color at the Sikh Ceremony, we wanted to create a soft, beautiful and romantic feeling for this evening soiree. We used an abundance of beautiful white orchids and a monochromatic palette of silver and white, which we then accented with pops of the perfect shade of yellow. But even with all of the beautiful decor, it was J’s dress and pure beauty that stole the show {as you will soon see!}. If I had to pick one word to describe this day, it would absolutely be “stunning”.

Enjoy some more amazingness from True Love Photo!

The party lasted late into the night and the dance floor was as packed as I’ve ever seen it thanks to Bryan of Music and More. In spite of the fact that we had a hot, 14 hour day in August, this party could have continued all night and everyone would have stayed and danced. The energy was amazing! You only get a few weddings this good every year. I truly cherish the memories of this beautiful day.

Wilson Vineyards Wedding Design

Ahhh, Amy & Jon….A couple who had me at “The ideal Saturday is one in which the time window between drinking coffee and switching to wine is a small one”. Amy & Jon live on the east coast and I was absolutely thrilled when they hired me to design their Wilson Vineyards wedding. Getting to know them via phone and email was fun, and meeting them in person was such a breath of fresh air. They are sweet, loving, and in total awe of each other. You can literally feel their love when you’re in the room with them.

Amy & Jon share a love of music, travel and wine and Amy loves the color purple. After reading their design questionnaires and learning a bit about their taste and personalities, I was immediately drawn to the idea of incorporating music sheets and mixing soft and rich purple hues with the sharpness of black and white.

I’m not going to lie; it took some serious persuasion to sell the incorporation of black and white into the design to Amy & Jon. But once, they bought in, they really did an amazing job of working with it. Jon’s shoes were a total surprise to me and I LOVE them. Overall, I love the way we were able achieve such a subtle cohesiveness throughout the design without overpowering it with the black and white.

A few of my other favorite design elements for this wedding were the paper music hearts that we sprinkled down the aisle in lieu of the traditional petals, the ah-dorable chair backs and table numbers, the escort card display and the amazing dessert bar. Collaborating with my friends at Honey Paperie and Sweet Cakes by Rebecca always seems to be the perfect way to tie the elements together for a finished look.

And, as every planner/designer knows, there is NOTHING better than receiving images of your work that capture the details perfectly and truly blow your mind. My breath was taken away by the stunning photography of The Youngrens.

Lodi Winery Wedding Feature, Danielle + Joe

Danielle and Joe Married432

We were so thrilled to see this STUNNING wedding from last summer featured on Style Unveiled over the weekend. This wedding was so gorgeous, we definitely wanted to save the reveal of these over this soiree for a blog feature that would showcase it just perfectly. Enter Style Unveiled, who does such an amazing job of letting the bride and groom tell their story, and showcases our work in a fashion that allows you to see all of the beauty that unfolded.

Danielle and Joe were married at her family’s private estates and vineyards in Lodi, CA. Their ceremony took place under the oak tree where many of her family members had tied the knot over the years, and she wore a veil made from her mom’s wedding dress, which was one of the sweetest sentiments I’ve seen to date. We spent nearly a year planning every little detail of how this day would unfold and I loved working with this couple to create their vision {many times over a lovely glass of wine}. I loved the idea of incorporating elegant details in gold and raspberry tones, and when set against the vines, it created a causal yet classy environment for the guests to dine in and enjoy. When it all came together so beautifully, it really felt like the perfect day – in spite of the fact that is was a whopping 108 degrees outside!

And, THANK YOU to Danielle for your sweet words in this feature. It’s a true blessing when you can find a friend in a client! I have to admit that I got a little teary eyed reading this one! Check out the full feature by clicking here or on any of the amazing photos by Stout Photography below.

Sacramento Memorial Auditorium Wedding, Rosie + Joe

Memorial Auditorium Wedding Sacramento

There are some weddings that I feel extremely lucky to work on  {because it doesn’t feel like work at all} and this is exactly how I felt the entire time that I worked with Rosie and Joe. They are warm, gracious, stylish, realistic, beautiful rock stars. And, I mean it when I say this: I wish I could plan this wedding over and over and over again.

My favorite thing about working with Rosie {aside from the fact that I’m just flat out obsessed with her beauty and charm} was when she came to me and said “I don’t really want to pick colors. I just want to have whatever colors” {Gasp!}. This allowed us so much freedom with the design and also gave us an opportunity us to have a hell of a lot of fun! In the end, we incorporated a plethora of colors including ivory, black, teal, ice blue, gold, garnet, blush, silver…you name it! I’m not going to lie – it scared me a bit – but the end result was nothing short of breathtaking and it was OH-SO-Rosie and Joe!

And, feel free to go ahead and gawk at that Carolina Herrera Dress miss Rosie is rocking! She certainly stole the show when she graced The Sacramento Cathedral in that stunner and then performed the opening song on stage with the band in it.

We were so fortunate to work with an amazing team on this event. Thanks so much to the always awesome Beth of True Love Photo for these off the hook images. All other team member credits are listed below.
