Fonda and Nick were married at the beautiful Memorial Auditorium in midtown Sacramento, which is quite a stunning spot for a wedding. With it’s art deco style architecture, a bit of old world charm and a lighted arch around the stage area, it has quickly become one of my favorite spots to create beautiful weddings.
I began working with Fonda and Nick several months before their wedding and, together, we created a perfectly beautiful design that fit this couple to a T. I love that Fonda made it a priority to work with the art deco style of her venue, yet still kept her own distinct style intact. She had envisioned a palette of soft pinks and bold blues – a little bit soft and a little bit dramatic. Once we added in the perfect lighting elements, the finest details and an abundance of candle light, it was an amazing scene.
The design of this wedding was so elegant and dramatic that you could hear guests gasping as they walked in to the ceremony, which was lit with dozens of candles, a dramatic lighted backdrop and just a few hints of Fonda’s favorite color blue to frame it all in. And, when we opened the doors to reveal the reception room to guests, there was a traffic jam of photo takers. It was truly breathtaking and one of the most beautiful events we have had to date.
